Fractional Laser
Fractional, non-ablative laser for skin resurfacing and the treatment of surgical scars, acne scars and stretch marks – the only FDA cleared laser for this treatment. The various Microlenses allow for customized treatments; the XF Microlens for high speed, quick treatment sessions or the XD Microlens for deeper penetration to reach tough conditions such as scars and stretch marks.
Fractional, ablative laser for the treatment of wrinkles and textural irregularities. This one-time treatment provides dramatic results with fast recovery and minimal downtime.
Laser skin resurfacing uses micro-fractional laser technology for the treatment of facial wrinkles, scars and blemishes. Laser skin resurfacing is also known as a laser peel, laser vaporization or lasabrasion. If you are looking for a smoother, more youthful skin texture, fractional laser treatments can remove blemishes, and encourage the growth of collagen fibers in the skin!
The fractional laser is used to send short, concentrated pulsating beams of light at irregular skin. This removes unwanted, damaged skin in a very precise manner one layer at a time. The laser beam used in laser resurfacing will remove your outer layer of skin, called the epidermis. It simultaneously heats the underlying skin, called the dermis. This action works to stimulate growth of new collagen fibers. As the treated area heals, the new skin that forms is smoother and firmer.
Resurfacing laser treatments can help correct the following problems:
-
- Fine lines or wrinkles around or under your eyes, forehead or mouth
- Scars from acne or chickenpox
- Non-responsive skin after a facelift
- Aged or sun-damaged skin
- Liver spots
- Improves complexion of yellowish or grayish skin tones
- Warts
- Birthmarks such as linear epidermal nevi
- Enlarged oil glands on the nose
Brown Spot IPL Photofacial Treatment
In Arizona, there’s no escaping the sun. Even with regular use of sunscreen and other precautionary measures, you may notice the development of brown spots on your skin. Fluctuations in hormones, age, and other factors can contribute to their formation. If dark spots are aging your appearance and preventing you from having the clear, flawless complexion you want, laser removal of these spots may be right for you. Whether you call it “brown spot laser”, “IPL”, or “Photofacial”, our top-of-the line laser can help you achieve clearer, unblemished skin.
IPL stands for Intense Pulsed Light. It helps restore a youthful looking skin intended for photo aged or sun damaged skin. It helps decrease facial redness, lessen the appearance of pigmented spots, reduce pore size and improve texture and fine lines.
IPL delivers high intensity pulses of broadband light that is non-ablative, meaning that is does not damage the surface of the skin. The intense light is delivered to the deeper parts of the skin (dermis) and leaves the superficial aspect of the skin (epidermis) untouched. IPL can eradicate red facial veins & flushing, improve acne rosacea, treat irregular pigmentation, dark sun spots, and reduce fine facial lines.
The secret of our pulsed light’s performance lies in dual filter technology that delivers optimally filtered wavelengths of pulsed light, for results as good as or better than those of competitive single-application lasers. Our laser is also cooler to the touch than older lasers used for spot removal, making our treatments less painful than with earlier generations of pulse light lasers.
Laser Hair Removal
At El Con Health and Wellness Center, we provide a safe, effective solution for both men and women who would like to permanently reduce unwanted hair on their face and body. If you hate having unwanted hair on your legs, arms, face – or anywhere else on your body – laser hair removal is a safe and more permanent alternative to shaving or waxing to keep your skin smooth and hair free. Our FDA approved lasers are gentle and effective for a variety of skin and hair colors!
Laser hair removal has become one of the most common cosmetic procedures performed in the United States, ranked second among cosmetic procedures behind neurotoxin injections in frequency of procedures performed. Laser hair removal utilizes beams of highly concentrated light designed to selectively penetrate into the hair follicles, to be absorbed by the pigment in the hair follicles and to destroy the hair within that hair follicle. A variety of lasers and light sources have been developed that may be employed in laser hair removal. The procedure was originally described to be performed on dark hairs on light skin, but newer technologies have made the procedure safer for patients with darker skin, with less risk of burning or scarring.
Benefits of Laser Hair Removal:
- Lasers can selectively target dark, coarse hairs while leaving the surrounding skin undamaged
- Each pulse of the laser takes a fraction of a second and can treat many hairs at the same time
- The laser can treat an area approximately the size of a quarter every second
- Small areas such as the upper lip can be treated in less than a minute, and large areas, such as the back or legs, may take up to an hour
- Ninety percent of patients have semi-permanent hair loss after an average of three to five session
Photo Rejuvenation (Spider vein, Pigmented Lesions, Rosacea )
If you are concerned about pigmented lesions, rosacea, spider veins, scars, or other imperfections on you skin, photo rejuvenation laser therapy can help you create smoother, more evenly colored skin.
Red blemishes from broken blood vessels and brown spots of pigment from sun damage respond to Intense Pulsed Light. We put the power of pulsed light and lasers in your hands to strategically clear pigmented lesions and vascular lesions such as brown spots, sun spots, or small veins around the nose. Individuals with spider veins can also see improvement in the number and in the appearance of veins after this treatment.
Rosacea is a chronic disorder primarily of the skin on the face characterized by flare-ups of redness on the cheeks, nose, chin or forehead that may come and go. In some cases, rosacea may also occur on the neck, chest, scalp or ears. Over time, the redness tends to become deeper and more persistent, and visible blood vessels may appear. Left untreated, bumps and pimples often develop, and in severe cases the nose may become swollen and bumpy with excess tissue.
If you feel self-conscious about the redness and flushing caused by rosacea, we can help you regain your confidence by treating your rosacea with targeted photo rejuvenation laser therapy. Studies show that the procedure substantially reduces visible blood vessels (telangiectasia) and also helped reduce redness (erythema) and flushing after an average of three treatments.
Similar to other laser skin treatments, treatment of rosacea involves targeting the imperfections in the skin with laser light. The lasers emit wavelengths of light targeted for the tiny visible vessels just under the skin. Heat from the laser’s energy builds in the vessels, causing them to disintegrate.
Laser treatments may also help reduce the papules and thickened skin caused by rosacea.
Laser Treatments for Acne Scar & Stretch Marks
In simple terms, a scar is the visible legacy of your skin’s tissue damage and trauma. Whenever our skin is damaged in any way, blood travels to the area carrying a mixture of our own body’s natural defenses. The body’s immediate response is to heal and prevent further problems by way of infection from external sources. Unfortunately, although our skin does invariably manage to heal itself, it often does so with scant regard to how it looked in its former state.
There are two general types of scars, either caused by tissue loss or overcompensation of tissue growth. Generally, sufferers of acne scars in which tissue growth is excessive tend to be from African or Asian backgrounds. This is called keloid scarring or hypertrophic scarring. These scars form when the skin cells produce an excess of collagen, which makes up the majority of our skin structure. Effectively, keloid scarring is the body healing itself too much.
When the scars are formed because of tissue loss, it is the lack of collagen in the skin which results in the scar being visible. This type of scarring is much more common and is known as atrophic scarring, and is often associated with severe cystic acne.
The Cynosure 1540 laser (similar to Fraxel) treatment improves skin texture, appearance of sun damage, pore size, scars and stretch marks with as little as 3 treatments. Using fractional technology, Cynosure’s Fractional 1540 laser uses non-ablative skin resurfacing to create narrow, deep columns of tissue coagulation via hundreds of tiny, high-precision microbeams. This process forces development of new collagen in the middle layers of the skin, blending scars and stretch marks into the surrounding skin.
To resurface the skin to minimize shallower scars and imperfections, we often use an ablative laser instead.
Much like scars, stretch marks often affect the medium to lower layers of the skin. Millions of women have stretch marks, which occur normally as a result of puberty, pregnancy, hormonal changes, and weight gain. When constantly stretched, the dermis can break down, and becomes marked by a form of scarring called striae. Stretch marks often start off as reddish or purplish in color and then become glossy skin that appears streaked in silver or white. Until now there were few options for stretch mark treatments, but we have several.
Depending on how old and how deep and extensive your stretch marks are, we may recommend non-ablative fractional laser therapy to remodel your skin’s structure, boost collagen development, and fade the appearance of stretch marks on your body in as little as three treatments.
